Army recruiting experts are putting the finishing touches on their 2016 Army recruiting rankings.
Army recruiting expert Greg Kyser is putting together the first full list of the top 50 recruits in the 2018 class, based on a weighted average of national rankings and current talent.
This year’s Army recruiting class was comprised of 15 recruits ranked in the top 100, which was a record for a recruiting class.
Kysers rankings of the class was published in The Recruiting Mind.
Army’s Malik Monroe is No. 4 nationally, but Kysering believes he is the best player in the class.
“Monroe is very athletic.
He has the athleticism, he has a nice frame, and he’s very quick.
He’s got a nice wingspan,” Kysing said.
“He has a very good handle, and I think he’ll really develop as he grows.
His athleticism and his ball skills are what makes him an ideal fit for this recruiting class.”
LSU and Florida State are both No. 1 and No. 2 nationally, respectively, but the rankings don’t factor in any of the other factors that have helped propel Monroe to the top of the recruiting rankings, including his elite playmaker skills and size.
“LSU has always been a very well-rounded recruiting class,” Kynesters ranking of the LSU recruiting class said.
Monroe is a two-time All-American, a two time SEC Freshman of the Year, a three-time AP All-America and two-year All-SEC performer, but it wasn’t until this year that he became a three time All-ACC selection.
He also won a national championship with LSU in 2017 and was named the Most Outstanding Player at the 2017 NCAA Division I All-Star Game.
“The thing that I like about Monroe is that he’s always been able to stay in the moment.
He doesn’t take his head off, and that’s been very important to me,” Kypers said.
LSU and Auburn are both ranked No. 3 and No 2, but Monroe has the upper hand because he has won three national championships with the Tigers.
LSU was a one-time top 10 recruit in 2018, but in his first season, Monroe was the only player on the Tigers roster to earn All-Freshman team honors.
“I think Auburn has a lot of talent,” Kyders said of Auburn.
“Auburn is a great program.
It has a big program, and they have a great recruiting class that has a few of the best players in the nation.
Monroe was ranked as high as No. 7 in The Rivals 300. “
It is very tough to go through a year where everybody is really hyped up and you don’t have any players who are even close to being the best recruit in their class.”
Monroe was ranked as high as No. 7 in The Rivals 300.
The Army recruiting ranking was based on 247Sports’ composite rankings, which take into account the top five players on the recruiting board.
The composite rankings take into consideration a number of factors, including the top player on each recruiting board, national rankings, player evaluations, and the strength of the current recruiting class and the recruiting class in question.
The recruiting rankings for the Army recruiting classes were compiled by KysER.
