In February 2018, the Wolverines announced that they were in pursuit of five-star point guard Trey Williams, but his recruitment has been slowed down by an injury.
The school said in May 2018 that Williams was out for the season due to a “medical issue.”
Now, the recruiting company Tarheel has taken up the fight.
According to a release from Tarheal, the company is in talks with Michigan basketball to land Williams and a number of other players.
The company said that they have received a number from Michigan, which they will “work to confirm.”
Michigan and Michigan State have been connected to the recruit since before the 2020 season.
The Wolverines are expected to make a decision about the five-stars on June 30.
Tarheals said they will make their own decision on the players and the position.
