When the Gators recruited Florida State, they got a lot of things

The Gators’ 2015 recruiting class was loaded with talent and talent was paying off.

But they also had a reputation for recruiting underwhelming talent.

That was the narrative that followed them through the first three years of their new regime.

It all changed for the Gators as they entered the 2016-17 recruiting season.

After a rough start in the 2017 class, the Gators made strides, but were still not a top-10 team.

This fall, however, the team was poised to make a serious push into the top 10.

The team landed a star in Malik Jefferson.

The 6-foot-8, 235-pound prospect from South Carolina was the top recruit in the country at his position, and he’s going to make an immediate impact.

He had his best season at Florida State in 2017, as he finished with 20.5 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.4 steals per game.

That total put him on pace for the most steals in the program’s history.

He’s also the only player in Florida State’s class with more than 20 points and assists.

He is going to be a big part of the Florida State defense for years to come.

He was also the No. 2 overall pick in the 2018 NBA draft, and was a consensus All-American in the process.

The Florida State recruiting class of 2017 is one of the best in the nation, according to 247Sports Composite.

It’s led by five-star guard Malik Jefferson, who is the No 2 overall prospect in the 2019 NBA draft.

He’s going.

The Gators had one of their top three guards, guard Malik Hamilton, committed to FSU.

The Seminoles will have one of its top two players in guard Jameis Winston.

They also have five-stars, guard Tyus Jones, and five-guards, guards Jevon Carter, Jarnell Stokes and Kaleb Tarczewski, who will be the top five in the class.

Florida State is looking to add to its roster and has an array of young talent on its roster.

Florida State will have the No, 3 overall pick next year, but there are five other teams with legitimate options in the top 20: Kansas, Florida, Louisville, Louisville and UCLA.

Florida is also the favorite to land a star from the D-League.

The 2018 recruiting class has the most prospects in the ACC and is ranked No. 1 in 247Sports.

The Gators will have to go into next season with the mindset that they have a solid foundation.

The team is still a work in progress and could still lose players this season, but this group is loaded with potential.
