Auburn commits to recruiting defensive tackle Tyler Moore

Auburn is expected to commit to recruiting a defensive tackle for its 2017 class, according to a person familiar with the situation.

The person spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation, and the person spoke to The Associated Press on condition that the person not be identified to protect the recruitment.

Auburn has not released a timeline for when it would make the commitment.

Moore is ranked the No. 2 player in the state by 247Sports and the No, 7 overall player nationally by Rivals.

Auburn, the No to No. 1 team in the country, could have the top three defensive tackles in the 2018 class, the person said.

The Tigers are expected to announce a four-star prospect as soon as Friday.

Moore, who is from Litchfield, Ill., is rated the No 2 player nationally and the 11th-best player in Illinois, according the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Moore, who turns 20 in April, was the first player in school history to be named the Illinois Defensive Player of the Year.
